Ted Hebbler started painting, passionately in the late 1990's. The man responsible for igniting this passion is a very eccentric and talented Jazz artist and a close friend by the name of Charlie Ward. In 1999 he left New Orleans for the Virgin Islands to run two nuclear medical labs. There he explored himself and the natural scenic beauty around him.
He painted just what he observed. When in New Orleans, he had painted some beautiful images of the Jackson square and the French Colony.
He has admitted on a website that his spiritual inspiration is derived from the beauty of the Virgin Islands and being able to capture the beauty on canvas.. The atmosphere and the beauty of the islands motivated him to paint. There are a large number of paintings done by him. The very act of looking at these paintings heals our minds and souls and gives us peace in this restless world.
Some of his works include * A sketch of Jackson Square in New Orleans. It shows a cathedral and the way leading to it. He has used pen and ink in sketching this painting. * Creole Bungalow New Orleans shows entrance with plants and trees outside the entrance beautifully reflected in red and green.
Creole Cottage French Quarter is painting using acrylic on canvas. Its dimensions are 16 x 20 inches and price $500.
Second Line to Jackson Square, dimension 32×40 inches, seems to be a virtual image of the site. It's more like a mirror of the site. French quarter has been pleasantly pasted on the water color paper using pen and ink acrylic. It is priced at $800.
Cane Garden Bay Tortola British Virgin Island is a 27×31 inches paradise painting of the beach. Its price is $500.
Ted Hebbler lived seven years at the islands, living every moment to its extreme limits. After the hurricane Katrina, which almost devastated the region, he moved back to the New Orleans.
In the future, we expect some really good creations by this 'prolific' and 'nature loving' painter.
